It's time to vote for the Week 1 Players of the Week, sponsored this year by our friends at David Enterprises!

As of right now, there were only two players nominated, so those will be the only ones on the ballot, but you can still get a name on the ballot by posting your additional nominations! If we get enough, I can split it into offensive and defensive categories.

Voting will run until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Thanks!

The Player of the Week poll is back, and once again, you get to pick! I'll get the polls set up in the next day or so, but first, I'd like to hear your nominations for Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, and why.

Thanks!
Rudy

I think offensively its pretty obvious who that was this week

Defensively it could be 1 of 3 players imo
Transplanted Panther
Matt on offense, Carr on defense.

I'd like to nominate sophomore KeAndre Vaughn, who had a heck of a performance capped with 28-yard touchdown run.

If there was a honorable mention category I would mention Nate Tidwell (#3) who made three what I would call "big time" catches that few at the high school level are gonna make! Keep up the good work!

PS It doesn't hurt having a dude throwing "big time" passes your way either! ........ tongue.gif

I thought Tidwell looked good. Soft hands and a 6'4 frame!

I'll consider that a nomination! smile.gif You can now vote for Mr. Tidwell in the David Enterprises Player of the Week Poll!

It was a honorable mention as I feel that he played honorably and deserved a little shout out! But I do feel he is deserving of being on the list! cool.gif And I already voted anyway .. not saying who for, or that his dad played and was pretty good .........

Does anyone have the individual stats for the game? Noticed the Courier didn't print team/individual stats for our game or anything but the scoring summary. Seeing the individual stats might help the voting here. Saw where Matt had 133 yds rushing and 3 rushing td's. I'm guessing he also had around 125 yds passing and about 4 tackles (won't mention the yardage on the one punt smile.gif). I know Carr had the one long 40-yd-ish reception near the HC sideline and the great-effort near miss in the end zone, and probably 2-3 other shorter receptions and a fair number of tackles and pass breakups. Vaughn maybe 10-12 carries for 65-75 yds?? including a 28-yd score. Tidwell I'd say 4 catches for 55 yds??Again I'd love to see the official stats but from being there that's my best estimate. Maybe the stats are out there and I'm just missing them somewhere???

Only my opinion, but I think if we want Matt to be considered a strong Mr.Football candidate, each game's official individual stats ought to be more readily available for those voters around the state to find.
