Thought the kids looked pretty good...especially with all of the injuries to date. Besides the usual cast of outstanding players, I especially liked the JV QB. It was also cool to see Coach Hape and Coach Padgett as well...neat way to kick off the season.

Who were the "starters" for the varsity squad last night? Does anyone know? I know most of the usual characters. I'm sure Cuda didn't play because of his injury. Who took his spot on offense and defense? What did the D-line look like? Who was the running back(s) and receivers? Just wondering.

Heard that the JV squad looked really good last night as well. Wondering how you would rate the JV squad.

The Blue won, 21-7. I should have some photos up from Saturday night later today!

Hey transplant-an update from my views and contacts.

Offensively. 2 starters back (Balbach and Smith) have mono, Not sure who filled in cause no one wore numbered jerseys(stealthy move) I,m sure the big soph Nelligan filled in some with David likely at center and Carlton back.

A good looking jr with size,Tinner, looks as if he will start so we may have six good ones on OL

From the wing T set leaders are: Wing backs Banks and Weinzapfel. FB Vaughn. QB is what,s his name(just kidding) Matty
also Stutsman is back for insurance at QB

WR are Tidwell and Carr with a couple others vying with Cuda out to at least game 2.

Defensively, North transfer Rion Irvine looked good at NT and is 255. McRae fills Woodgett position, Not sure on other DE but would think Newhouse is in running.

LB Harris takes over inside with Kemp with James moving to outside. Battle is on for the other OL with Fuquay returning and a soph Scharr looking good.

CBs Carr and trying Carnahan. Safeties Hansen and Mossberger(speedy soph) being looked at in Cuda.s absence.

A soccer player looks to be the PK

Again, no offense to anyone, just my putting the puzzle together after watching, talking and listening to some very reliable sources.

Mossberger and Vaughn will add a lot of speed to the team. I know that the line is a little smaller then years past, but a 6'0 220 kid that can move is better then a 280 pound kid that is slow as a turtle.
