Don't mean to jump the gun but I found this clip on the web that mentions we will be playing Paducah Tighlman next season in Louisville.

That will be a nice facility and environment for the team to play in. They went on an unexpected run last year and won the 3A KY State Championship after having a very mediocre regular season. I believe they've won state 3 times since 1985. Hopefully they will be a quality opponent and our boys will be more than competitive with them.

I suppose playing in this event is an upgrade from playing at Owensboro, but it still seems to fall short of what could be. I'm not sure why we can't work out a home and home series vs a quality Indiana opponent. The article states the existence of a follow-up 2012 event in Louisville as well, so (assuming we're in it again) that means no home game in Week 2 for the foreseeable future. The PapaJohns venue is certainly nice for the boys, but wouldn't a home and home vs Paducah Tilghman even have been slightly better than driving the same distance to Louisville 2x?

I agree. We haven't had a home game week 2 since 2004. I don't want to have a week 2 home game at the expense of playing a quality opponent, but surely we can find a tradition rich team that will do a home and home with us. Better yet, we could schedule something like what we've gone (or going to) to Warren Central, Owensboro, and now Louisville to play in at the Bowl. I know a lot of work & planning have to go into something like this, but we have an awesome venue for it.

I have know idea how much effort it takes to put on a deal like Warren Central had either but if Owensboro can do it surely we can. Well ok its not quite like the Warren Central gig but its better than what we,ve done.

We have the best facility anywhere, a storied tradition, great kids, fans that go anywhere and have won 2 state titles recently.

Its like being an overachieving child without parents to push them.

Just wanted to add some info. My son just moved over to Louisville for college. The best way to the stadium is to follow 64 East and then take I-264 East( Watterson Expressway). You can't miss the exit as you can see the stadium just before I-65 East. Take the Crittenden Drive exit. Turn left onto Central Ave. and proceed to Floyd Street. Papa Johns will be right there in your face. Parking is all around the stadium Easy drive!

Just wondering. Why do we have to play 3A Tilghman and 3A Louisville Central. Why don't we get to play one of the 6A teams (St. X or Ballard)? Why don't we get to play Ballard or St. X? Legitimate question.
