What is your favorite Reitz Football moment?
from Anonymous: The 2003 West Side Nut Club Championship Game was something I will never forget. The Bowl was packed with both Reitz and Mater Dei fans. I was apart of the cub team that went undefeated and won city. As my teammates and I were standing, cheering on for Reitz, the Mater Dei fans were mocking us and making stupid comments. They shut up a little bit later. Mater Dei had gotten down to about the 35-30 yard line at the closed end of the Bowl. What was to follow was one of the hardest hits I had ever seen. Mater Dei's Zach Zirchelbach was lined up wide in a trips formation. The ball was snapped and he ran his pass route straight through the middle of the field. He leaped and made a nice catch, but he paid greatly for it. I don't know the player's name, but the Safety who was #7 delivered a hit that everyone in the Bowl had to have felt. For a second, the Bowl was the quietest place in the world. It was almost as if time had stopped, but once the play was over, my teammates and I went crazy. The entire Bowl at that point was electrified from the hit. Reitz went on to deliver more crushing blows throughout the night as they defeated the Mater Dei Wildcats. That's my favorite Reitz Football moment as of right now.
