Anybody else noticed we were called the mighty panthers last night? It was very nice to hear. Did the ban on "mighty" get lifted?

I missed the mighty panther call, but I did hear "Your defending state champions!!!"

Didn't hear that.....but I didn't hear anything sitting in the endzone. I wish we would bring back the speakers on the scoreboard so the fans in the endzone could hear. The WSNC wasted their money since it can only be heard from directly underneath. I wonder if this is a problem at the Mater Dei home games?

We were able to hear the "Voice of the Mighty Panthers but were unable to hear the music.
When the band was not playing the school song we could not hear it over the speakers.
Was really disappointed at the beginning of the game as we could not hear the Bring 'em out or the gong.
Really missed that. Hoping it was just technical difficulties and nothing more.
Please turn it back up.

Could not hear anything once you got past sitting directly in front of the press box. That is a joke. Guess we will all just have to start calling and complaining to the school directly since they will not take requests off of here.

I could hear pretty much everything, but as you all are saying, it needs to be turned up. The volume was the lowest since the new sound system. Great job otherwise though!

Please turn up the sound. The fans appreciate it and the energy of the pregame suffers without it!!

Let the powers that be know you're upset. The Nut Club, (I think) were the ones who payed big bucks for a premier sound system they don't use.

What is the problem with this schools' administration not wanting us to take pride in the accomplishments of the kids? There are no state championship banners , flags, or anything else anywhere. The banners were taken down in the gym, and now this mighty panther garbage. I know several groups want to do something, but they are continually shot down. I thought taking pride in your scools' accomplishments was a good thing, but not according to this group. School pride IS a good thing and showing what your students have done is not bragging, but shows what you can do with dedication and hard work. How that is somehow bad is beyond me. Maybe some day we will have someone in charge who realizes this.

There is a 2007 4A state champion banner hanging on the fence around the west end of the field. But I agree. Why can't we get something put up on the scoreboard, or better yet, on the wall underneath the Reitz Bowl (thread was generated a couple of years ago.) We take pride in what our football teams have accomplished through out the years, yet we hide it like it should be some kind of secret. Enough is enough. Put up our title years with pride. If the opponent can't handle playing at the home of an 11 time state champion, maybe they shouldn't have agreed to play us.

As for the banner, I believe that it was hung in the field house somewhere. I know there are several former players who frequent this site, if one of them could confirm that, it would be greatly appreciated.

There is also a 2009 State Champ banner next to the 2007 one. I motioned for it and it got passed for the 2007 one as well as a 2009 one. Yes MORE needs to be said and done as the above comments state, but as long as a certain person remains still in charge of EVERYTHING it will not change. Some people are just TOO politically correct anymore. I REFUSE to be! If that makes some mad at me then so be it I don't give a $%#^!

Are they mixed in with all the other adds along the fence or in the field house? I didn't notice them if they are outside. You would think they would be in a very prominent location for everyone to see. But then again, I guess that would be bragging and lord knows some people(or someone) would say we can't have that. I'm surprised they even let us put Reitz on the field in case that would offend someone.
